Times Higher Education has ranked the Faculty of Education among the top 601+ institutions in the world for the field of education! This achievement for the Faculty of Education also marks a broader success for the University of Prishtina, which itself is ranked in the 1500+ position.

“According to our preliminary analysis, this success reflects years of tireless work, especially driven by strategic actions that set us apart. We believe that the volume of external funding generated by the Faculty in the last 5 years, its intense and high-quality international engagement, the reduction in the student-to-staff ratio from 52:1 in 2020 to 25:1 in 2024/2025, the Faculty’s active collaboration with the school system, and the increased scientific publication activity of our academic staff have played a decisive role,” said Blerim Saqipi, Dean of the Faculty of Education.

As part of its internationalization strategy, the Faculty of Education has developed a double-degree doctoral program with the University of Ljubljana, implemented in English. In recent years, it has consistently achieved impressive results in generating external funds—surpassing other disciplines within the university. These efforts are part of the Faculty’s mission to improve the quality of new teachers.

“We recognize that improving teacher quality is a long-term process requiring a transformation in discourse and increased dedication from academic staff. The Faculty has plans and developments in this direction, and the strategic actions and achievements that made this ranking possible are prerequisites for improvements in the quality of teaching and of our graduates. We believe that in the medium term, this work will translate into higher-quality teachers. Our actions are planned and managed with this goal in mind, but also to demonstrate that the university can further advance at both strategic and international levels when the plans and resources are in place,” concluded Dean Saqipi.

The Times Higher Education ranking is one of the most trusted international platforms for higher education, based on teaching quality, research environment, research impact, international collaboration, and links with industry. Over 2,000 institutions from more than 115 countries and territories participate in this ranking each year.

The latest results were published at the beginning of 2025, and for the first time, the Faculty of Education has entered this prestigious list!
