Capacity Building Seminar on Scientific Publishing Organized by EERA in Cooperation with the Faculty of Education

The European Educational Research Association (EERA), in cooperation with the Faculty of Education at the University of Prishtina, organized a capacity-building seminar on scientific publishing in the field of education. The seminar was held at the Faculty of Education and brought together educational researchers at different stages of their academic careers, representatives of faculties of education in Kosovo, the Kosovo Pedagogical Institute, and representatives of non-governmental organizations working in the education sector.

Why is this seminar important? The seminar was organized within the framework of EERA’s support to Kosovo in its process toward full membership in this European network of educational research associations—one of the most important international mechanisms for advancing educational research and scholarship.

Key Facts about EERA:

• Organizer of the Annual European Conference on Educational Research (ECER), which gathers over 3,000 participants each year from around the world.

• Publisher of the European Educational Research Journal, with an impact factor of 2.0.

Kosovo’s Membership in EERA

The Faculty of Education at the University of Prishtina has led the application process for Kosovo’s membership in EERA, mobilizing a broad national community of educational researchers. In March 2025, EERA approved the Faculty’s application for candidate member status.

To secure full membership, the establishment of a structured national network of educational researchers—organized as a national association—is required.

Objectives of the Faculty of Education

• To advance scientific research in education in Kosovo

• To increase the quality and quantity of scientific output

• To strengthen standards in initial teacher education

• Ultimately, to contribute to improving the overall quality of pre-university education in the country
